Great intro book, that includes good recipes, regarding the Paleo diet, June 10, 2014

This book serves as a great introduction to the Paleo diet. The low price is an added bonus. A few of my friends have gone Paleo so I was interested in the hype but I am a sugary, high-carb eater. :-/ However, even if you’re not totally into Paleo or practicing it at all, this book provides some good recipes and advice concerning food shopping. To have easy mess free access to the recipes, I suggest getting the kindle version. -Some of my favorite recipes include almond flour muffins (try it also with a portion of the almond flour substituted with coconut flour). Also, the nutty breakfast bars are awesome to prep at night and indulge in the following morning. Lastly, the boneless, shredded pork rib tacos for breakfast provides a savory awesome energy kickstart for your day. Yes, tacos for breakfast! Definitely helps relax away cravings for sweets.

This book is an easy read. It reads as smoothly as a friend giving advice. However, my gripe about it is also precisely because of the voice that is taken on. While reading a section about the cons of the Paleo diet, I found that the book read a little one sided. The writing seemed biased as there were no possible negatives presented and instead the reader is told that about how people are wrong in their beliefs of negatives dealing with the diet but I wish I had read at least one potential con and quotes or results from any medical studies instead of reading opinions. However, this gripe of course is a non factor if you’re already participating or looking to take on the Paleo diet.


I’d definitely suggest this book further.
